See for yourself at Song of the Ambassadors, a groundbreaking opera in development that unites technological and scientific innovation with sound healing. Conceived by polymath K Allado-McDowell and written with the AI program GPT-3, with music composed and performed by Derrick Skye and a chamber ensemble of singers and instrumentalists, Song of the Ambassadors reimagines opera as a participatory ritual. AI-generated images designed by digital artist Refik Anadol are infused with brainwave data from Thake to create combined visualizations on stage. The result is a powerful experience that illuminates the pathways by which music and ritual feeds the spirit.

Ben Newman

For the last decade my work in the arts and culture sector has ranged from artist management, consulting, fundraising, and producing at organizations with a wide range of budgets and programmatic focus. From conference planning and execution at @OPERA America, to roles at several festivals including @Opera Omaha’s inaugural ONE Festival, and @Opera Philadelphia’s O18 Festival. I've managed a roster of internationally renowned artists, produced concerts, digital events and music videos, and built out sustainable business infrastructure for artists and performing arts organizations alike.
