Trinity Fan, 24, is a pianist, composer, educator, and artist based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has been a top prizewinner of several competitions including YoungArts, Music Teachers National Association, Camerata Artists International Competition, and more. Recently, Trinity was awarded First Prize in the 2025 Rosamund P. Haeberle Piano Competition and Honorable Mention in the Michigan MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition. In 2022, Trinity was a finalist in the Spotlight International Piano Competition, where she won Honorable Mention and the Audience Award. As a lover of chamber music, Trinity often performed in her piano trio, the JET Trio, with violinist Jay Kuo and cellist Ethan Chung from 2016-2023. In 2017, JET Trio was named a Grand Winner in the National League of Performing Arts (NLPA) Chamber Music Competition.
Trinity received her MM in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Michigan under the tutelage of Christopher Harding. She previously studied with Edward Auer at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and prior to her studies at IU, Trinity was a student of Tomoko Harada for 11 years. Trinity has attended festivals including Tanglewood, the Amalfi Coast Festival, and the Edward Auer Piano Winter and Summer Workshops, where she also assisted as a coordinator for 3 years. She has also participated in several masterclasses with world-renowned artists including Yekwon Sunwoo, Norman Krieger, Hung-Kuan Chen, Victor Rosenbaum, among others.
As a composer, Trinity was awarded Second Prize in the 2024 MTNA National Composition Competition for her piece, “Reminiscence.” She previously studied with Shuyu Lin, Corey Chang, and Wong Chun Wai. Aside from performing, Trinity has a love for teaching. She is a former faculty member of IU's Young Pianists Program and was the Vice President of IU MTNA from 2022-2023, which was awarded Indiana University's "Organization of the Year” that year. She is now a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and teaches at SMTD's Piano Pedagogy Laboratory Program.
Trinity will begin her doctorate studies at the University of Michigan in the fall. She studies with Christopher Harding and jazz improvisation with Andy Milne.
