Biography

Alena Feldman

Alena Feldman is a versatile soprano whose artistry reflects both emotional depth and technical refinement. She has been singing classically since the age of ten, developing a lifelong dedication to the craft of operatic performance. A graduate of Boston University College of Fine Arts (M.M.) and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (B.M.), she studied with Penelope Bitzas during her time at BU and currently continues her vocal training with Jon Frederic West, with whom she has studied for four years following a brief hiatus during graduate school. Alena’s operatic roles include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), La Voix de Lointain (Cendrillon), Ruth Post (Whaling Women), Alice 3 (Alice Tierney), and Dido (Dido and Aeneas), as well as covers of Vitellia (La clemenza di Tito) and the Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro). Upcoming engagements include Santuzza (cover) in Cavalleria Rusticana and multiple ensemble performances with Vero Beach Opera, including Pagliacci and La Traviata. A district qualifier in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and a semifinalist in the Premiere Opera Foundation NYIOP Auditions, Alena brings a commanding vocal presence to both classical and contemporary repertoire. Deeply committed to new music and collaboration, she has premiered several new operas and continues to integrate her Alexander Technique certification into her artistry, using it to foster presence, balance, and authenticity on stage. Through her singing, Alena seeks to use opera as a medium for empathy, healing, and profound human connection.
