Anneke Stern is a British-American mezzo-soprano known for her versatile range, rich tone, and comedic flair. As a rambunctious and outgoing child, Anneke enjoyed performing in any form, such as acting, musical theater, dance, and improvisation. Anneke found her true passion for singing opera as a teenager, and after a few years of education at the Bard College music program, she began her training with teacher Jane Eaglen at the New England Conservatory of Music in 2019. Through her undergraduate and graduate study there, Anneke has studied and sung music from every era and genre, with notable roles including Prince Orlofsky in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, the Grandmother in Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood, and Orpheus in Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers. She is currently looking forward to performing the role of Natura in Cavalli’s La Calisto as well as participating in the New England Conservatory’s Liederabend Recital Series. When she is not on stage, Anneke enjoys traveling, crafting, and spending time with her cat, Pomo.
