Italian and Spanish-American mezzo soprano Arianna Paz Ritaccio is a young singing actress and opera/musical theatre crossover performer praised for her “warmth of timber and accomplishments as a comedienne” (Boston Musical Intelligencer) and her “all-encompassing” interpretation of song (New England Gilbert & Sullivan Society).
2024/25 season highlights include her role debut as Rosina in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Druid City Opera and her Alice Tully Hall debut as the Alto 1 soloist in Berio's Sinfonia with the Mannes Orchestra. This summer, she joined The Ohio Light Opera for her second season as a Resident Young Artist, performing in their productions of Carousel, Brigadoon, Tip Toes, Patience, and Bitter Sweet.
Favorite performance credits include Vittoria (and Duchess cover) in The Gondoliers and Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music with the Ohio Light Opera, Pane in La Calisto with Mannes Opera, Despina in Così fan tutte with both Lowell House Opera and Opera NexGen, Zerlina (cover) in Don Giovanni with Long Island Lyric Opera, Cinderella in Into the Woods at the American Repertory Theatre ClubOBERON, and the title role in Cendrillon with Harvard College Opera. In concert, Arianna has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese in Tagliacozzo, Italy, at Boston Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops, and at Feinstein’s 54/Below in New York City.
Arianna is currently based in NY. She is the incoming Signet Artist in Residence at Harvard University.
