Originally from Quezon City, Philippines, Filipino mezzo-soprano Chirbee Dy is a dynamic musician passionate about creating artistic experiences to bring people together.
As a versatile performer, Chirbee’s 24-25 season highlights include making her debut at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts as a soloist in A Broadway Celebration, performing with The Orchestra Now under the baton of Maestro James Bagwell, and at the Luma Theater in Come out of the Cold: A Winter Cabaret, alongside countertenor Anthony Roth Constanzo. She has also performed with the Bard Baroque Ensemble as a soloist, led by Renéee Ann Louprette, performing early music.
Chirbee holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Equally comfortable in concert and in opera, she covered and performed the leading role of Lazuli in their mainstage production of Chabrier’s L’Étoile and took on the role of Harry in Britten’s Albert Herring. She has also sung as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Aloés in L’Étoile for opera scenes, and participated in the ensembles of Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Floyd’s Susannah.
Currently, Chirbee is pursuing her Master of Music degree at the esteemed Vocal Arts Program at Bard College Conservatory, where she studies with Edith Bers, Stephanie Blythe, Kayo Iwama, and Erika Switzer.
