Christopher Gray, bass-baritone, is a rising senior at the University of North Texas, where he pursues a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of American bass-baritone Stephen Morscheck. A Tier II Finalist (Encouragement Award) at the 2025 James Toland Vocal Arts Competition, he was also a winner of the Schmidt Vocal Arts Undergraduate Awards (Upper Division), earned Third Place at the MIOpera International Vocal Competition, and was a finalist in the San Antonio Tuesday Musical Club Voice Competition. Recent operatic roles have included Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Frosch (Die Fledermaus), and the Sodbuster (Proving Up) with UNT Opera, Masetto (Don Giovanni) with Music On Site, Inc., and Colline (La bohème) with the Sherman Symphony Orchestra. This summer, he joins the Aspen Music Festival and School as a Studio Artist where he is covering Schaunard (La bohème) and performing the role of Samana I in the world premiere of Christopher Theofanidis and Melissa Studdard’s oratorio Siddhartha, She. In the fall, he will perform the title role in Rachmaninoff’s one‑act opera, Aleko.
