Biography

Conor Brereton

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Conor Brereton is an emerging tenor known for engaging performances in roles ranging from Mozart and Puccini to contemporary premieres. Operatic credits include Ken/Hobart/JFK in the world premiere workshop of Two Corners by B.E. Boykin with Finger Lakes Opera, Gherardo and Rinuccio (cover) in Gianni Schicchi at Festival Napa Valley, conducted by Kent Nagano, L’imperatore in Turandot with Opera Grand Rapids, the Officer in Ariadne auf Naxos with The Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst, Ouf in L’Étoile at Indiana University, Sroufe in Adolphus Hailstork’s Rise for Freedom and Gabriel von Einsenstein in Die Fledermaus at The University of Michigan, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with The Miami Music Festival, and Prunier in La rondine with Oberlin in Italy. In concert, Conor has performed the tenor soloist in Robert Schumann’s Adventlied with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the tenor soloists in Mozart’s Krönungsmesses at Indiana University and Vesperae solennes de confessore at Indiana University and Oberlin Conservatory, and as the Fence Post/Pastor Soloist in Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepherd at the University of Michigan, a semi-staged concert that was captured in a live performance film by Emmy-award winning film producer Bob Berg. 

Conor joined Finger Lakes Opera as a Young Artist in 2023 and was a Manetti Shrem Vocal Fellow with Festival Napa Valley in 2021. Conor received his B.M. in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, his M.M. in Vocal Performance from The University of Michigan, and he pursued further graduate studies at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music before settling in Connecticut in 2023.
