David Mejía is a Mexican tenor originally from Brownsville, Texas, now based in the Dallas–Fort Worth. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Texas at Arlington (2022) and a Master’s in Voice Performance from Texas Christian University (2024,) and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at TCU. David is an accomplished recitalist, chorister, and operatic performer with credits including Die Zauberflöte, La Cenerentola, Susannah, and Les pêcheurs de perles. He is excited to be collaborating with the Fort Worth Opera this year and has previously worked for The Dallas Opera, Vegas City Opera, and the Bayview Summer Music Festival. He has two national titles for classical singing: 2nd Place Male Vocalist for the 2023 American Pops Orchestra Next Gen Competition where he performed at Lincoln Center in NYC. He also won 1st place Advanced Tenor- Bass Vocalist for the National Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Student Auditions in San Diego, California in 2023. David’s 2025 highlights include winning the Fort Worth Medical Orchestra Aria Competition, premiering Jared Schwartz’s new opera “Schiele in Prison” in New York City as a project alongside the Neue Galerie and was a tenor soloist for the world premiere of James M. Stephenson’s Symphony No. 5 at the CBDNA Convention.
