Elizabeth Camele is a full-time freelance soprano based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Next, she will be making her role debut as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute with Pittsburgh Festival Opera. Most recently, she sang the roles of Locoë in Offenbach’s Daphnis et Chloë with Thousand Bridges Opera Company and Mother in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel with Pittsburgh Festival Opera. Additional recent operatic roles include: Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Béatrice in Béatrice et Bénédict, Mrs. Grose in Turn of the Screw, and Beth (cover) in Little Women. A career highlight: Zora in the Serbian premiere of Svadba at the National Museum in Belgrade, Serbia. Elizabeth is on the roster for the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus and is a Professional Core member of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s choir of choice).
Elizabeth graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music (MM Vocal Performance) in 2023 and Carnegie Mellon University (BFA Vocal Performance) in 2020.
Elizabeth owns and runs a private voice studio with over thirty regular students. She currently holds teaching artist positions with Pittsburgh Opera’s “Opera Trunks” and Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s “Opera Tots” programs, and is a voice teacher for Main Street Theatre Company.
