Emma Nevels, soprano, is originally from Lexington, Kentucky. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Alabama, where she studies under Dr. Alexis Davis-Hazell. Emma is passionate about the emotional honesty and storytelling at the heart of vocal performance and strives to bring warmth and sincerity to every project she takes on.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Vocal Performance and Multimedia Production from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she discovered her love for connecting classical music with modern creativity. Her background in multimedia has given her a unique artistic perspective, blending her experience as a performer with an eye for visual storytelling and audience engagement.
At the University of Alabama, Emma performs regularly with UA Opera Theatre and continues to refine her craft through coursework, performance opportunities, and collaborative projects with peers and faculty. She is particularly drawn to repertoire that highlights expressive text, lyrical lines, and the dramatic interplay between character and music.
