Harper Knopp has always had a passion for justice, and believes in healing one another with the power of art. She has gone through her academic journey with the intent to help others through music, and believes that positive change is attainable to those who engage meaningfully, with intention behind their song.
Harper is currently a student at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, studying under the direction of renowned mezzo-soprano, Michelle DeYoung. Harper is an active member of University Chorale, IU Student National Association of Teachers of Singing, and University Players, building of musical community and relevant artistic statement. She is also a recipient of the Founders Scholar Award, Director’s Award, and Indiana Premier Talent Scholarship.
Harper has been involved in countless musical performances during her college career, including several musical productions, opera salons, symphonies, recitals, masses, contemporary composition expositions, and studio concerts. She recently has been featured as a soloist in Haydn’s Theresienmesse in B-flat Major, or recently as Jane Doe in Ride the Cyclone. She hopes to use her love of music and theatre to expand her artistic reach beyond the stage to other modems of performance, like voice-over acting, film, or creative organizing. Harper has trained in dance for several years in competitive contemporary stylings, dance studio training, and private instruction as well as private acting coachings and masterclasses. Harper is an enthusiastic performer with a dedication to performance, and uses it is a way to connect people and speak up as an artist.
