Biography

Isabella Daltoso


Mezzo-Soprano Isabella Daltoso is a Master of Music in Voice Performance candidate at Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA). Her most recent opera credits include Suzuki in Madama Butterfly with International Opera Institute and Desert Opera, and Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro at CCPA. She is a current resident teaching artist with Centralia Opera where this July she will sing Third Lady in The Magic Flute and assist with the Vocal Fellowship Program, which offers free voice and stage training to high school students. Her upcoming engagements include Dulcamara in Elixir of Love - Opera for Youth Version with Centralia Opera and Madeline in Jake Heggie’s Three Decembers at CCPA. Recent engagements include Goffredo in Handel’s Rinaldo with Chicago Summer Opera, Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti with Northwest Sinfonietta, Praskovia/Lolo in The Merry Widow with Vashon Opera, and Douglas Hedwig’s “A Species Stands Beyond” at the College Music Society Great Lakes Chapter Conference. Her other opera roles include Sesto in Giulio Cesare, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, and Buttercup in HMS Pinafore. She has performed in concerts with Great Lakes Operetta, The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and the IES Abroad Vienna Music Program. Isabella has gained recognition in competitions, and was recently a national semifinalist in the CS Music Competition, and a semifinalist in the International MIOpera Competition. She earned second prize in the Angela Meade Vocal Competition. Isabella is a graduate teaching assistant in the Music History Department at CCPA. She is a current student of Allan Glassman and is coached by Dana Brown. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) where she was an Agnes Berge Smith Music Scholar, James D. Holloway Scholar, and a student of Janeanne Houston.
