Ella Sobkowicz, Soprano, is a Second-year Master of Voice student at CIM studying with Mary Schiller. During the summer of 2025, she sang the role of Gilda (Rigoletto) at La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy. With the CIM Opera Theater in its 2025 Season, she sang the role of Zina (Dark Sisters). With the CIM Opera Theater in its 2023-24 season, she sang the role of Adele (Die Fledermaus), Younger Alyce (Glory Denied), and Morgana (Alcina). In CIM’s student composition ‘Pocket full of operas’ she sang the role of Winnie (Winnie the Pooh). In CIM Opera Theater’s 2022-23 season, she sang the role of Constance (Dialogues de Carmélites) and La Fée (Cendrillon). During the summer of 2023, she sang the role of Mrs. Wordsworth (Albert Herring) with the Harrower Summer Opera Program in Atlanta. Throughout her undergraduate degree she has sung in several select opera scenes including Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Gilda (Rigoletto), Mireille (Mireille), Ilya (Idomeneo), Nannetta (Falstaff), and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel). She was a student at the Miami Frost School of Music Patti and Allan Herbert Program at Salzburg during the summer of 2022. She is the recipient of the 2024 Irvin Bushman Memorial Prize in Singing.
