(He/Him) Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, JARED COHEN is a second-year master’s student at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Oberlin Conservatory. Recent highlights include Frederic in Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Chicago’s The Pirates of Penzance, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at Prague’s historic Estates Theater, and performances as a young artist with the Seagle Summer Festival. Cohen’s repertoire spans opera, operetta, and concert works, showcasing his versatility and stage presence.

Biography

Jared Cohen

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, JARED COHEN is a second-year master’s student at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. Cohen received his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He has performed the roles of Don Ottavio/Don Giovanni and Anthony Hope/Sweeney Todd (Seagle Festival); the title role/Candide and Acis/Acis and Galatea (Oberlin Opera Theater); and most recently the Frederic/The Pirates of Penzance (Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Chicago). In addition to Seagle, Cohen has appeared at other summer festivals, including Prague Summer Nights, Bel Canto in Tuscany, Songfest (Claremont, California), LAH-SOW (Virtual) and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Cohen has also appeared in masterclasses with such renowned musicians as composer Jake Heggie, pianist Graham Johnson, and baritone Randall Scarlata. The tenor also performed onstage with Hugh Jackman in his The Man. The Music. The Show. world tour in Miami, Florida.
