Biography

Malone Blaich

Soprano Malone Blaich is a recent graduate of the Artist Diploma at CCM, where she received her Master of Music degree in 2023.  Her appearances there include Zina, (Dark Sisters), Serpetta (La finta giardiniera), Lisák (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmélites).  In Summer of 2025 Ms. Blaich served as an Apprentice Artist at Santa Fe Opera  where her assignments included covering the Governess in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, as well as singing the title role in Strauss’ Daphne and Cunégonde in Candide for The Santa Fe Opera’s Apprentice Scenes Programs. In 2024 she attended the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, where she made a number of rdebuts, including Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, the title role in Nico Dostal’s operetta Clivia and Valentina in Torroba’s zarzuela La Marchenera. In 2023, Ms. Blaich was engaged by Cincinnati Opera for the chorus and outreach performances, as well as the workshop-performance and recording of Gregory Spears and Tracy K. Smith’s The Righteous for Opera Fusion/New Works. In 2022 she served as both performer and teacher with Heidelberg Summer Opera in Germany, where she made her role debut as Mimí in La bohème. Notable upcoming assignments for Ms. Blaich include joining Dayton Opera in their Fall 2025 production of Carmen as Frasquita, engagements as the Soprano Soloist in Händel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem with the Dayton Philharmonic, and role debuts as Ivy Sweet in Shawn Okebholo’s The Cook-Off and Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel both with Dayton Opera.

A Kansas City native, Ms. Blaich garnered extensive experience there as a jazz singer, dancer, actor and choreographer. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. At Pepperdine she sang Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and the title role in Cendrillon, and she served as choreographer of Die Fledermaus and Dido and Aeneas. In addition to being a professional choreographer, Ms. Blaich is a licensed somatic practitioner, and she is in the process of acquiring a 300-hour yoga teacher training certificate as well as certification in massage therapy.
