Maya McGuire, Mezzo-soprano from Washington DC, is a Master of Music in Vocal Music student at The Juilliard School, where she studies with Darrell Babidge. McGuire was recently an Apprentice Artist at Sarasota Opera, covering the role of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro. McGuire has participated in Houston Grand Opera’s YAVA, Nashville Bel Canto Opera Scenes Intensive, and Curtis Summerfest. She has won national competitions including the Schmidt Undergraduate Vocal Competition (2024, 2022), and the NSAL Shirley Rabb Winston Competition (2023). At the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, McGuire earned her Bachelor of Music as well as minors in Italian Language & Culture and Yoga Studies. At CCM, she performed the roles of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, and Venus in Orpheus in the Underworld. She sang professionally with Cincinnati Opera in Concert and Collegium Cincinnati as a mezzo soloist. As an arts advocate, McGuire directs an International Women’s Day recital, raising over $10,000 for Cincinnati Women's Shelter “Women Helping Women.”
