Mc Jefferson Agloro is a Filipino-American baritone based in Chicago, IL. Originally from the Philippines and Sacramento, California, he earned his BA in Music from the Sacramento State School of Music and is currently pursuing his MM in Voice at Northwestern University under the guidance of W. Stephen Smith. He is also an alumnus of Four Corners Ensemble’s OperAtion Opera and the Berlin Opera Academy in Germany.
While studying in Sacramento, Mr. Agloro was awarded the Music in the Mountains Lucy Becker Memorial Scholarship. In 2023, he received third place in the Robert S. Dinsmore Opera Scholarship Competition and second place in Opera Modesto’s Kristina Townsend Memorial Competition.
Mr. Agloro has appeared as a featured soloist with several regional ensembles, including Camerata California and the Camellia Symphony Orchestra. His operatic credits with the CSUS Opera Theatre include Dr. Falke in Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, the title role in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Baron de Pictordu in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon, and Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.
In 2023, he debuted the role of Commander X in Alon Nechushtan’s Legit Secrets with Four Corners Ensemble: Operation Opera. Most recently, he performed as Peter in the Berlin Opera Academy production of Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and portrayed Danilo in Northwestern University Opera Theatre’s production of Lehár’s Die lustige Witwe.
