Natalie Pendás is a highly acclaimed coloratura soprano renowned for her exceptional vocal beauty, remarkable agility, and captivating stage presence. Her performances are consistently praised for their musicality, expressive depth, and technical precision. Natalie earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University, where she studied under Dr. Loraine Sims. During her time at LSU, she also had the privilege of coaching with esteemed faculty members, including Sandra Moon, Dr. Lori Bade, Robert Grayson, and Terry-Patrick Harris. Among her notable opera roles at the Turner-Fischer Center for Opera were Anne Egerman in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, La Fée in Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon, Eurydice in Philip Glass’s Orphée, Tebaldo in Verdi’s Don Carlo, and Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola.
Natalie completed her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2021, where she studied under the guidance of Marion Pratnicki and Dr. Marilyn Taylor. During her studies, she performed the role of Ottile in Manuel García’s Le Cinesi (also billed as Le Inglesi), and participated in the choruses of La Clemenza di Tito, Werther, and Leonard Bernstein’s Mass. She was also a valued member of the Piedmont Opera Company, singing in the chorus of Maria Stuarda and L’elisir d’amore.
As an award-winning soprano, Natalie has garnered multiple honors from the National Association of Teachers of Singing and was recently inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. She was a finalist in the Mobile Opera Rose Scholarship Competition and received several prestigious scholarships throughout her academic journey.
Advancing her vocal technique and skills, Natalie traveled abroad for more performance opportunities. In July 2024, Natalie made her professional debut as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Soo Opera Company in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, where she further honed her craft. She also performed in the chorus of Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah on Mackinac Island.
In addition to her performance experiences, Natalie has participated in highly esteemed summer programs. In 2019, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Patti & Allan Frost School of Music Vocal Summer Program in Salzburg, Austria, where she studied with renowned faculty members, including Margaret Astrup, Robynne Redmon, and Linda Watson. She also had the opportunity to perform in several masterclasses with some of the world’s foremost vocal instructors. In 2018, she participated in the Si Parla, Si Canta Vocal Program in Urbania, Italy, where she worked closely with distinguished coaches such as Benton Hess, Nicole Cabell, and Federico Sacchi.
Natalie has also worked professionally with various opera companies, including Piedmont Opera and recently, Palm Beach Opera, performing in their choruses for multiple productions. In the spring of 2025, Natalie was hired to perform in Palm Beach Opera's Le Nozze di Figaro. She is looking forward to returning to the PBO in February 2026 for their performance of Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers.
