Natalie has a passion for studying oratorio works. She was the alto soloist in Beethoven’s 9th symphony with the Peabody Conductors orchestra under the direction of Maestra Marin Alsop and Dr. Beth Willer, was in the semi chorus and main chorus in Orff’s Carmina Burana at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Baltimore, and has performed “Bereite dich Zion” from Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium, at a Christmas concert in Rhode Island.
When not performing or studying, Natalie enjoys visiting her parents, boyfriend Nick and their cat Muppet in Rhode Island. Together they like to try new local restaurants, go on bike rides, relax on the beautiful beaches of Rhode Island, or travel together. Natalie’s love of music began with her father encouraging her to join the children’s choir when she was in 3rd grade. Since then, her family has never missed an opera, showcase, Irish dance recital, or play no matter the size of her role or distance.
Natalie’s mission as an artist is to create community through storytelling. In 2024 Natalie had the pleasure of portraying Hansel in a new jazz adaptation by Nick Hersh of Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel.” This 45-minute presentation was made with the intention to perform for children as part of the Peabody Opera Studios outreach program. Natalie performed the role of Hansel 8 times in collaboration with Annapolis Opera for hundreds of elementary school students. Each show was unique; students would get out of the chairs screaming for Hansel to not eat the berries, and they’d boo the witch each time she came out on stage. At the end of each performance, the students would ask questions about the show. Their genuine interest in opera reminded Natalie of the impact that the performing arts can have on children and the importance of outreach productions. During the performance, each of those kids got to escape whatever they may be experiencing at home or socially, while having fun and getting lost in the art of storytelling.
Natalie earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, summa cum laude, from SUNY
Purchase and earned her Master of Music in vocal performance from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. Natalie received the Anita Erdman Award for Opera from the Peabody Conservatory.
