Hi – I’m Scott Dainton. I’m relatively new to opera. With that said, I’m an accomplished choral / ensemble singer, having performed in large and regional theater productions throughout the US. I spent the majority of my musical career (some time ago 😊) based in New York City before moving to Florida in 2018.
While in New York, I was cast in three national tours of Broadway shows. In each of these I was hired for the ensemble and to cover principal roles (in one show I took over a principal role which I performed for nearly two years). I also performed at Goodspeed Opera House and Radio City Music Hall, amongst a lot of other regional theater.
In the past year or so (late 2023 and into 2024) I’ve been an ensemble member with Opera Orlando. I made my opera debut (ensemble) in Verdi’s “Macbeth” in Oct. 2024. I subsequently took part in Opera Orlando’s productions of “Cendrillon”; “Cavalleria Rusticana”; and “Beatrice and Benedict”. I also took part in “The Messiah”; “Verdi Requiem”; and “Andrea Bocelli in Concert”. This spring (2025) appeared in “Carmen” with St. Peterburg Opera. I’ve just been offered “La Boheme” with Opera Orlando (Oct. 2025).
I live Indian Harbour Beach, FL and also spend time at a home in NYC.
Thank you for your consideration 😊.
Sincerely,
Scott Dainton
