“Sophia Longo is a Soprano from Columbus, OH cultivating her reputation as a dynamic, genuine, and passionate vocal artist. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music at Ohio University where she studies with Dr. Daniel Stein. At Ohio University, she has performed the roles of Nettie Fowler (Carousel), Casilda (The Gondoliers), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) and as the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana. She also performs with their touring Educational Opera Outreach Program in collaboration with Opera Columbus.
Sophia has trained in several summer opera programs including most recently as Mary Warren (The Crucible) at Harrower Summer Opera and Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Miami Music Festival. She also performed the role of Clorinda (La Cenerentola) and studied Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) at the Mediterranean Opera Festival in Caltagirone, Italy, and she performed as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) with Maskarade Ópera Estudio in Santander, Spain.
Sophia graduated from Ohio State University in 2023 where she studied with Dr. Laura Portune and interpreted the roles of Cendrillon (Cendrillon), Little Red (Into the Woods), and Ariel (The Little Mermaid). She also performed in scenes as Butterfly (Madama Butterfly), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Anna Leonowens (The King and I), and Patience (Patience).
Building experience on the opera stage, Sophia has performed with several local opera companies including Opera Columbus as A Page (Rigoletto), Metauro Opera as Sandman/Dew Fairy (Hänsel und Gretel), Ukrainian Opera Ensemble as a cover to Natalka (Natalka), and in the chorus of Opera Project Columbus."
