Born on December 31, 2000, Zhang is a passionate baritone whose warm tone and expressive artistry have captivated audiences on both Chinese and international stages. His musical journey is one of discipline, imagination, and a constant pursuit of emotional truth through song.
Wenlong began his formal training at the China Conservatory of Music, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree (2019–2024). During those formative years, he embraced a wide range of operatic roles that revealed his artistic depth and versatility. His portrayal of Giorgio Germont in La Traviata (2019) first drew attention to his mature musical sensibility. Soon after, he brought warmth and vitality to Schaunard in La Bohème (2020–2021), and depth of character to HeMa A in Marco Polo (2021).
His passion for storytelling through music continued to grow as he performed Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro (2021) and Guliemo in Così fan tutte (2023), exploring the delicate balance between humor and sincerity that defines Mozart’s operas. He also expanded his repertoire with modern Chinese works, taking on powerful roles such as Hu Qiu in The Savage Land (2023)at China conservatory of music and Jibo Wei in Jiang Jie (2024) at the Shen Yang Conservatory of Music, where his nuanced performances were praised for their emotional honesty and strong stage presence.
Currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Boston University, Wenlong continues to refine his craft through intensive study and stage performance. His ongoing development reflects a deep commitment to vocal excellence, artistic exploration, and the universal language of music.
