Yanghao Liu, a baritone from China, is currently studying his Master of Music degree in Opera Performance with full scholarship at the Boston Conservatory. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Education from the China Conservatory of Music. On the operatic stage, Mr. Liu has appeared as John Buchanan Jr. in Summer and Smoke (Boston Conservatory, 2024) , Guglielmo in Così fan tutte (Boston Conservatory, 2025). He is preparing John Brooke in Little Women (Boston Conservatory, 2025). His ensemble experience includes performances with the Graduate Choir at the Boston Conservatory, Beijing Musicians Association Chorus, National Centre for the Performing Arts Chorus, Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, and the China Song and Dance Theatre Orchestra. Mr. Liu has performed at China National Centre for the Performing Arts, China National Opera, Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Beijing Language and Culture University. He is the recipient of numerous international awards, including Metropolitan Opera Laffont competition Boston District qualifier (2025), First prize in the Chicago International Virtuoso Music Competition (2025), Second Prize at the Korea-China International Vocal Music Competition (2023), Third Prize at the Medici International Music Competition (2023), and Third Prize at the 6th Concorso Internazionale di Canto Città di Urbino (2019). In 2025, he worked as a Madarin-English translator for professor Isai Jess Munoz, chair of vocal studies at Boston Conservatory, when he gave masterclasses in Shandong, China. Mr. Liu has worked with renowned teachers, coaches, conductors, and directors. His voice teachers include Kathryn Wright and Fanhong Meng. He has received coaching from Jean Anderson and Laurann Gilley. He has also collaborated with directors such as David Gately, and worked under the baton of conductors including Andrew Bisantz and Nicolas Giusti.
