Program Information:
The training program, founded in 2020, is already an indispensable part of the Vienna State Opera. The two-year program aims to introduce young, outstanding singers to the challenges of the profession of an opera singer in a targeted and practical way.

During the training, the studio members have the opportunity to deepen the skills they have acquired during their studies, to work with great artists from the international opera world and to benefit from their wealth of experience. The young singers receive a broad-based musical and scenic training program tailored to their personal needs and also perform on the stage of the Vienna State Opera in small and medium-sized roles. Master classes, rehearsal visits, movement training and workshops as well as participation in their own studio concerts in Vienna and other federal states round off the training.

Young singers with completed vocal training who were born after January 1, 1996 can apply.

Materials Required
Applications open: May 1, 2025.

The application process is divided into three rounds. In the first round, a pre-selection is made based on the following materials sent in:
→ artistic CV with photo
→ 3 opera arias in different styles, at least one of them as a video and one in German
→ Copy of passport
→ Repertoire list (sung and studied roles)

Audition Requirements:
- Please check back for more information when applications open.
- The second round will take place in October and November 2025 in Europe, Asia and the USA (dates and locations to be announced).
- The results of the second round will be sent by email by the beginning of December 2025.
- The final (third round), in which the final pre-selection for the opera studio from 2026/27 will be made, will take place on 17 and 18 December 2025 in Vienna.
