Jamie Gooch

JAMIE GOOCH is a coloratura soprano from Ottawa, Canada, who has recently completed a Graduate Diploma of Music in Voice, at the University of Ottawa, under the tutelage of Prof. Christiane Riel. Jamie attended uOttawa for her Masters of Music, also under Prof. Riel, and received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Prince Edward Island, under the tutelage of Prof. Sung-Ha Shin-Bouey, and Prof. Stephen Bouey. Previous projects include Bottle and Duchess from ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND (Will Todd), Chloe from DAPHNIS ET CHLOÉ (Jacques Offenbach), the Queen of the Night from DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE (W. A. Mozart), and Mrs. Sem from NOYE’S FLUDDE (Benjamin Britten), as well as scenes from LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR (Donizetti), LAKME (Delibes), CARMEN (Bizet), CANDIDE (Bernstein), LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Mozart), SOUTH PACIFIC (Rogers and Hammerstein), and others. Recently, Jamie made her directorial debut with an abridged and downsized production of MAMMA MIA (Johnson) for children. Jamie has also recently taken part in two choruses; the first, with the Ottawa Pops Orchestra, A Star Trek vs. Star Wars Symphonic Experience, included works such as Duel of the Fates (WILLIAMS), and a debut performance of Child of the Stars (KEVIN LAU), commissioned by the Ottawa Pops Orchestra in 2025. In the second chorus, Jamie was invited to sing first soprano for a semi staged production of TOSCA (Puccini) at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. Jamie has participated in many competitions, taking third place in the Medici International Music Competition (MIMC), as well as being invited to the final round of the Salzburg International Music Competion (SIMC), and the American Classical Musc Awards (ACMA). In October 2025, Jamie was invited to take part in the Premio Fausto Ricci XIII competition, in Viterbo, Italy. Jamie is passionate about refining her technique and performing exciting music on all the world’s greatest stages, as well as educating people of all ages on musical technique and history.
