Gaeun Song, a coloratura soprano from South Korea, is renowned for the deep resonance of her warm voice and her thoughtful approach to interpretation, captivating audiences with her refined artistry and technical prowess. Currently based in New York City, she has garnered recognition for her achievements, winning prizes in prestigious competitions such as the Opera Index Competition.
In the 2024-25 season, Gaeun will present a diverse array of performances, including “Evening of Song,” “Piano Cantabile,” “Cinderella - A Fairy Tale,” and “Shall We Dance” at esteemed venues such as the Union Club and C. Stiefel Concert Hall as part of the Mannes Sounds Festival. She will perform as the cover of Morgana in Händel’s Alcina at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater.
In the upcoming season, she will perform as the Soprano (singer) cover in Kaija Saariaho’s La passion de Simone and as Louise in the U.S. premiere of Korngold’s Die Stumme Serenade (The Silent Serenade).
Gaeun completed her bachelor’s degree in Summa Cum Laude at Seoul National University, studying with Jennifer Larmore and Ho-Jeong Jeong. Currently, she is pursuing her master’s degree at the Mannes School of Music, studying with Arthur Levy and Joshua Greene.
