Richard Koons is a working actor, singer, teacher and not least of all a very proud dad! He is originally from South Bend, Indiana but he has lived in New York since the fall of 2000, so he feels more like a native New Yorker. Richard hold degrees in voice from Ball State University and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Although his degrees were all in classical voice and he studied and sang opera for several years, he never lost his love for musical theater. So, after singing classical music in NY for about 4 years, he finally decided to follow his true dream and made the transition from operas to musicals. Since that time, he has been very blessed to work with many great actors and companies on some amazing shows. When he's not on stage in a full scale musical production you might find him singing on the concert stage. He performs a lot with his husband, pianist Russell Wagoner, and with his friends and Rhys' God Parents, Soprano, Sonia Perez and Pianist, Omaldo Perez.
