Sohyun Cho, South Korea, is praised for her expressive artistry and compelling stage presence. She is currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma at the New England Conservatory on a full scholarship under the guidance of Bradley Williams. A dedicated interpreter of both opera and concert repertoire, Sohyun’s musical journey reflects her commitment to excellence and her passion for storytelling through song.
Sohyun earned her Master’s degree in Voice Performance at the University of Michigan, where she studied with renowned soprano Amanda Majeski. While there, she portrayed Eurydice in Orphée aux Enfers by Offenbach, a role that highlighted her vibrant tone and comic flair. She has also been recognized on the competition stage, earning First Prize (Grand Nominated) at the International New York Competition.
Her recent performance credits include the Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the Miami Music Festival, as well as Poppea in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and Valentina in John Musto’s Later the Same Evening at NEC.
In the 2025–2026 season, Sohyun will return to the NEC Opera stage as the Controller in Jonathan Dove’s Flight and the Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, further demonstrating her versatility across contemporary and classical repertoire.
In addition to her performance achievements, Sohyun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance and a Master’s degree in Music Education at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She has taught choir at the middle and high school levels, conducted church choirs, and interned at an arts high school—experiences that inform her artistry and pedagogical approach.
